This is our friend Ruthie. Ruthie is silly. She is cuckoo. She is taking cigerette butts and putting them in a pile in this big sandbox.
This is my friend's Jonah, Noam and Adira. We know them from the synagogue. They are checking the place out.

A Sam Post
I had a fun time and this all about it. This is right after we went to the beach. It is fun. It is pretty high. It is fun.

Can you see the white curve at the top of this building? It is the moon. This structure is getting made.

Beer and Fish

I think I already mentioned that you can drink where ever you like in Israel. Being able to bring your own beer to the beach is pretty swank. Sarah took this photo
and I think it could be the Israeli version of the Carona add campaign. We decided it was time for a divide an conquer day. Sarah took Akiva to the shuk where she bought some great fish but had to haggle with the fish monger about cleaning it. Sam and I took the skate board to the beautiful board walk at the renovated port. I pushed him down these great sloping bubbles that are built into the board walk. Truly the coolest and most fun boardwalk I have ever seen. They have a really amazing Friday night service in this thoroughly secular public environment led by "secular" Israelis. We spent Shabbat there and it was truly wonderful. Afterwards we had a picnic Shabbat dinner by this large sand box which is also part of the boardwalk.

Everyday life in Tel Aviv

Akiva and Zev find trouble from A to Z. Actually, they seem pretty compatible and are terrific at being the big brothers of the bunch.

More to tell about this later. This guy sold us a Sabich sandwitch. We really had no idea what it was but we were hungry and saw a big line. He told us it was Iraqi and it includes fried eggplant and a pickled egg.
Our friends Kevin and Daniel. Most days revolve around telling each other how we went to the store or a bike ride and then considering when we might be ready to go to the beach or have a play date.
When I first came to Israel in 87, Dizengoff Square was pretty fancy. Now it is a little run down and they always seem to have outdoor kick boxing classes.

More from Tel Aviv
We had a terrific day today. We spent the morning hanging out at Shuk HaCarmel. An open air shuk in Southern Tel Aviv. We bought a ton of fresh vegetables and fruit. The kids got to spend some of the sheckels they have been earning for being good, which they really liked. The highlight for them was probably buying chocolate eggs with toys in the middle for a sheckel (about a quarter). They also each got their own change holders and new 10 sheckel caps.
Around 4 PM we were ready again for the beach and met our friends Kevin, Danielle and their kids there. The water was warm, gentle and shallow so the kids could go pretty far out which was super fun for them. Sarah brought some beer and Kevin and I drank ours 20 yards into the Mediterranean.
At sunset we walked home through the newly renovated Independence Park which isn't even officially opened yet. The kids played on an awesome new playground. A really great Tel Aviv day.
